Vendée Concept AMR – Autonomous Mobile Robots for Internal Logistics
Our AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) solutions automate the transport of bin stacks between end-of-line stations and packaging or storage areas. The goal is twofold: save time on internal movements and reduce operator effort related to handling and rolling stacks.
AMRs are autonomous mobile robots capable of performing transport tasks without a driver, while integrating seamlessly into the real constraints of a production environment (coactivity, traffic, and flow variations).
A work zone is defined (mapping), along with waypoints and pick-and-place locations (end-of-line, buffers, storage areas, packaging stations). Using this information, the AMR moves autonomously, calculating its trajectories and managing traffic within the workshop. Equipped with sensors, it detects obstacles and implements avoidance strategies (slowing down, detouring, or safe stopping) to ensure safety and continuous operation.
Process Integration and Fleet
The AMR fleet can be managed via a mission management system: automatic assignment of available robots, priorities, queues, and real-time supervision. Missions can be triggered by production equipment (e.g., end-of-line stations, palletizers, buffer zones) or by the operator, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted logistics flow.
Integration with a Robotic Cell
AMR integration can be coupled with a palletizing cell to automate the removal of finished pallets/stacks. At the end of a cycle, the cell signals a stack as ready to the control system, and the PLC communicates with the fleet manager to assign an AMR. The AMR picks up the pallet/stack at the pick-up point and transports it to the designated area without interrupting the operation of the cell.
